Proof of origin, traceability, and verification of production practices are increasingly important in agriculture and food systems. Blockchain technology has the potential to help sheep producers with these emerging areas of interest, but most importantly could add value when selling lamb, wool and breeding stock.
Applying the potential benefit of these digital tools requires a good understanding of industry dynamics and producer perceptions. The University of Wyoming is currently conducting a survey to help us better understand sheep industry perspectives on blockchain and other digital technologies.
